Oopsie is…
the ultimate security deposit replacement program.
An Oopsie Waiver retires the security deposit, and gives you a contractul damage waiver service. Oopsie Waiver turns damage protection into a revenue line on every booking. No more chargebacks. No more awkward emails.
Oopsie Waiver is not insurance.
Oopsie Waiver is a contractual damage waiver — No insurance policy is issued, and no state insurance regulator has authority over the consumer product.
01 — WHY HOSTS SWITCH
The way you're handling damage isn't working.
Security deposits scare off bookings. Chargebacks rarely succeed. OTA programs are slow, opaque, and capped where it counts. Most hosts end up eating accidental damage and absorbing the awkwardness — and they're losing money on the gap.
i. Security deposits drag down conversion
Holding $500 on a card adds friction, ties up funds, and creates a reason to argue at checkout. Most modern OTAs have already moved away from them — for a reason.
iii. Other damage programs leave gaps
Coverage that depends on a platform's discretion, with opaque payout timelines and exclusions that surface only when you file. You're operating someone else's policy on your property.
ii. No chargebacks
Disputing a card for damage rarely wins. Networks side with the cardholder. You spend the time, pay the fee, and still eat the loss. The math doesn't work.
iv. "Just absorb it" is a tax on hosting
Every stain, scratch, and broken lamp comes out of your margin. Across a portfolio, accidental damage quietly costs hosts thousands of dollars a year — and there's no system to recover it.
02 — HOW IT WORKS
Four steps.
One switch.
Oopsie Waiver works with the same platform you already use for verification, agreements, and arrival workflows. There is nothing new to integrate, no separate dashboard, no claims portal to learn.
i. Turn it on
Enable Oopsie Waiver on the properties you want covered. Done in under a minute.
iii. Accidental damage is waived
If something covered happens — a spill, a stain, a broken lamp — Responsibility for that damage is waived up to the coverage cap. No invoices. No chasing.
ii. Pay a small fee
You pay a small waiver fee — disclosed inside the agreement workflow as a damage waiver, not insurance.
iv. You earn on every booking
A share of every waiver fee flows back to you. Damage protection stops being a cost center and starts being a revenue line — on every reservation, automatically.
03 — WHAT’S COVERED
Everyday accidents are easy.
Oopsie Waiver covers the kind of damage that's part of running a hospitality business — the spills, scratches, and breaks. It does not cover intentional harm, gross negligence, or theft.

No. Oopsie Waiver is a contractual damage waiver — the same legal structure used by rental car CDW and hotel accidental damage programs for more than 40 years. No insurance policy is issued, and no state insurance regulator has authority over the consumer product. Read the full structural breakdown →

OTA damage programs are operated by the platform, at the platform's discretion, with their exclusions, their timelines, and their definitions of what counts. Oopsie Waiver is yours: it sits on top of every booking regardless of channel (direct, Airbnb, Vrbo, or anywhere else), the waiver scope is defined in your rental agreement, and you earn a share on every stay.
-
You pay a small, transparent waiver fee — typically a few dollars. It is disclosed inside the agreement workflow as a damage waiver, not as insurance, and you sign the waiver addendum as part of the standard compliance flow.
-
If the damage is within the covered scope and under the per-stay cap, the guest's liability is waived — no invoice to send, no card dispute to file, no claims portal to navigate. If the damage is outside scope (intentional, gross negligence, theft, undisclosed pets, etc.), you retain every right you would have had without the waiver in place.

No — but most hosts do. The waiver makes the deposit redundant for the accidental damage scenarios the deposit was meant to address, and dropping it usually improves conversion and removes a major source of guest friction at checkout. Whether to keep, lower, or retire your deposit is your call.
-
Genuinely, no catch — the model is well-established. Oopsie Waiver lives inside the verification, agreement, and damage workflow your guests already move through.
